Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 Energies Young Investigator Award is Dr. Xiaosong Hu.
Dr. Hu is currently a professor at Department of Automotive Engineering, Chongqing University, China. He has provided salient contributions to sustainable energy and mobility solutions, particularly in domains of modelling and control of power/propulsion systems of clean energy electrified vehicles in sustainable transportation. Major contributions distinguishing him include: (1) he innovatively proposed the concept of Li-ion battery model usefulness and related state estimation, health prediction, and optimal charging algorithms, substantially increasing the precision and robustness of battery management in a complicated vehicular environment; (2) he has systematically studied control and optimization approaches for (plug-in) hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs/HEVs), innovatively addressing the deep-rooted challenge of jointly rapid optimization of vehicular configuration, component sizing, and energy management. Dr. Hu is productive and influential in the filed of sustainable energy. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Hu on receiving this award and for his outstanding achievements.
As the awardee, Dr. Hu will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF and an engraved plaque.
We would like to thank all the nominators from various fields of study for their participation and all the Award Committee Members for their evaluation of the many excellent nominations.
