Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequent cancer in women of all ages. Imaging, therapy and the social, economic and psychological impact of BC are significant not only for the patients affected, but also for the entire community.
The need for personalized medicine has given even more importance to the need for a multi-disciplinary approach. Improved survival has been achieved through the early diagnosis of breast cancer, allowing for more effective and targeted treatments. Nevertheless, a significant gap remains when an early diagnosis of breast cancer is not achieved, especially in women with dense breasts or at high risk. Furthermore, the incidence of male breast cancer has also increased by 20%–25% in the past few decades.
A multidisciplinary team and better diagnostic–therapeutic care pathways (DTCP) are necessary to perform early diagnosis and to improve treatments for this disease.
This Special Issue aims to present and discuss all aspects involved in the management of breast cancer, from imaging to therapy. Original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) all the aforementioned topics. Articles concerning the social-economic and psychological impact of breast cancer are also welcome.
I look forward to receiving your contributions.
