Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Childhood tuberculosis (TB) is no longer a hidden epidemic, as it was considered around 20 years ago. Numerous advances in our understanding of this disease in children and adolescents have been made and there are many challenges that still exist.

It is important to exchange knowledge about the epidemiological situation of childhood TB in various regions, as many children still die without diagnosis.

New molecular methods have brought good perspectives for the diagnosis of pediatric TB, benefiting adolescents but still with limitations for children (under 10 years of age). Numerous therapeutic trials seek shortened treatment regimens for TB disease and latent TB. Still, experience with children is restricted.

This Special Issue of Children aims to stimulate the dissemination of scientific works that provide new ideas and contributions to this topic.
