Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The multifaceted interaction between the immune system and cancer is increasingly being appreciated. Mechanisms of immune surveillance and the delicate balance between the beneficial and detrimental effects of immune activation as well as inflammation are subjects of intense interest. Moreover, there is an expanding breadth of opportunities for the therapeutic modulation of both innate and adaptive immune mechanisms to control malignant disease, using both molecular and cell-based strategies.

The goal of this Special Issue is to bring together the latest advances in our understanding of these complexities, both at a basic level and how they may be harnessed for patient benefit. We invite both primary research and review articles that articulate our current understanding of cancer immunity and how this may be modulated by experimental immunotherapy approaches.
