Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are inviting submissions to this Special Issue, entitled Internet of Things (IoT): Innovations for Smart Homes. Smart home applications based on IoT enable sensor–actuators to be sensed and controlled remotely, creating opportunities for more direct integration between smart homes and artificial intelligence (AI). Sensors, such as home environment monitoring and security devices, connect to and interact with the backend in the cloud via the Internet. Actuators can be remotely controlled in real time and can include any appliances such as air-source heat pumps, bulbs, fans, etc. AI utilizes the data from sensors to smartly control actuators. Therefore, IoT relates to the power of data. Data from sensors can guide AI’s decisions, helping it to derive the correct prediction and adapt more quickly to changing home conditions, which saves time and money on chores and security, as well as creating a safe and convenient living environment for the whole household.
