Dear Colleagues,
Manufacturing modernization is a necessary condition for supporting high-quality economic and social development. The development of precision machinery has made the precision of modern products higher and higher, and the application and improvement of automation have promoted the continuous improvement of production efficiency. The new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial revolution is profoundly affecting the production mode and development mode of the manufacturing industry. Intelligent manufacturing, characterized by the accelerated integration of information technology and manufacturing, has become a major trend in the development of global manufacturing. This special issue aims to provide an overview of the latest advances in precision machining and smart manufacturing. The special issue is intended to contribute to scientific and technological advances that improve the precision, efficiency, and reliability of machine manufacturing.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
