Special Issue Information

We invite submissions exploring the use of AI and data science in the field of bio-signal processing, as well as cutting-edge research and recent developments on COVID-19 related to bio-signal processing.

In the future, it is expected that advanced and diverse services will appear by linking data collected at various locations. In a data-driven society that achieves both economic development and the solution of social issues, AI technologies help in the collection and utilization of a large amount of diverse data.

Then, in a data-driven society, the development of basic science such as healthcare, health promotion, and health science are expected. Using these technologies, it becomes possible to comfortably evaluate the relationship between humans and the environment and product usability, and more. There are various applications for bio-signal processing technologies that can be utilized for daily life and well-being.

This information may give new insights into different environments in the COVID-19 era, where human activity is restricted, and aid in the development of new and more effective technologies that could revolutionize human health maintenance.

We should consider happy lives for human beings using the data acquired experimentally or extracted from databases.

In this Special Issue, we will introduce the use of cutting-edge bio-signal processing for analyzing information using AI, big data, and environmental data.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
