Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Recommender systems are now becoming more mature with an undeniable omnipresence both in social media, as well as in collaborative online sales, e-learning platforms, and so on. When ordering meals, watching a video on demand, listening to music, buying clothes, etc., recommender systems are at the center of many applications. These interdisciplinary systems are increasingly complex, mixing numerous methods, ranging from knowledge management to XAI. This Special Issue, “Recommender Systems: Applications and Challenges”, welcomes submissions of recent research that investigate all aspects of recommender systems: algorithmic (knowledge-based reasoning, deep learning, etc.), conceptual (preferences, decision support, etc.), context awareness, explainability, evaluation, and innovative applications in various fields. This Special Issue is open to a wide thematic range of articles covering, among other things, recent applications and new or future challenges.
