Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Aircraft noise is one of the main issues for public health and the well-being of communities living around airports. The demand for air transportation is projected to experience significant growth over the next few years. This significant increase in air transport movements could lead to further deterioration of the relationships between many airports and surrounding residents. To address these noise issues, the aviation industry is heavily investing in the development of novel aircraft designs with the objective of reducing aircraft noise; the aviation industry is also investigating a series of operational improvements to reduce aircraft noise on the ground.

This Special Issue seeks research papers on various aspects of aircraft noise. We encourage the submission of manuscripts that focus on the following:

  • Technologies for noise reduction at source.
  • Novel noise abatement operational procedures.
  • Land use planning and management.
  • Advanced methods for community noise impact assessment.
