This is a excellent paper. The issue of what to do with models when the physical twin exhibits non linearity is a very real problem. The options proposed by the authors and then explored by testing is a real contribution. The options of recalibrate, update, better physics is a very interesting discussion. In the absence of the causation option (better physics), getting better model correlation is a decent option. It tracks with what I’ve proposed in my work.

My one nit is this sentence doesn’t make sense:

The problems associated with only every considering model updating as a ‘learning' strategy are discussed in Section 3,
