Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript entitled " Bibliometric Analysis of the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Operated by Blending Biodiesel Fuel Produced from Essential Oil and Diesel Fuel" includes the analysis of the literature already in existence regarding the use of biodiesel production from essential oils as biofuels for compression ignition engines. The advantage of this work is the use of appropriate methods. Literature references in Introduction section were correctly selected in this manuscript. This manuscript is good to read, but a few remarks arise, which I present below:

Point 1: there is no description of the patterns used in this field of research - this is one of the points set as the aims of the work by the author.

Point 2: I did not find a reference to the purpose of the thesis – „To identify the key topics and research gaps in the field and make suggestions for future study issues.”

Point 3: in the conclusion part, the author need to expand the information about what this review paper gives, who it can be useful to, what groups of scientists, etc.

Author Response

The author would like to thank Editor and Reviewers for their valuable comments, times, efforts and for adding perspective to our paper entitled "Bibliometric Analysis of the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Operated by Blending Biodiesel Fuel Produced from Essential Oil and Diesel Fuel” – (processes-2288828). Regarding the comments, the necessary changes/corrections have been made in the revised manuscript and the individual response has been highlighted the document by using the track changes mode. I hope that the revised manuscript meets the standard of the journal. Once again, thank you very much for your consideration of my paper.

Best Regards,

Author

Reviewer 2 Report

Paper provides interesting insights into the research on biodiesel production from essential oils, it does not clearly define the research gap or the specific research in the introduction part.

Relevant literature on the topic, this could limit the generalizability of the findings. How does the author address this issue on the review

The study only considers publications up until 2023, which may miss important recent research on the topic. How author addressed this ?

It would be better if you provide some inslights to the article in the introduction, Spirulina microalgae blend with biohydrogen and nanocatalyst TiO2 and Ce2O3 as step towards emission reduction: Promoter or inhibitor; Comparative assessment of waste cooking, chicken waste and waste tire biodiesel blends on performance and emission characteristics; An assessment of agricultural waste cellulosic biofuel for improved combustion and emission characteristics.

While the study identifies the top countries publishing research on biodiesel production from essential oils

Article does not explore potential reasons for these disparities or how they may influence the research agenda.

Article identifies 10 main research topics, which does not provide a detailed analysis of how these topics are related.

Why the article focuses on biodiesel production from essential oils, but it does not consider the broader context of alternative biofuels or the potential trade-offs between different types of biofuels.

Article not discuss potential implications of the findings for policy or practice in the field of biodiesel production from essential oils.

Conclusion can be revised with future implications and future directions.

Reviewer 3 Report

In this manuscript, the author performed a bibliometric analysis of the use of biodiesel production from essential oils as biofuels. This manuscript is poor and lacks originality. I believe it should be rejected.

Some comments:

I suggest to change the title from “Bibliometric Analysis of the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Operated by Blending Biodiesel Fuel Produced from Essential Oil and Diesel Fuel” to  “Bibliometric analysis of the use of biodiesel production from essential oils as biofuels” for example, since there are no data on the performance and emission characteristics of diesel engines.

The introduction section should be improved. Divide the single paragraph from line 29 to line 55 in sections and provide more details. For example: Essentials oils description.. Biodiesel description.. Bibliographic analysis… Aim of the study..

All figures. Please provide figures with higher resolution. In figure 1 x-axis is unreadable.
