Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The proposed circuit is considered to have the desired characteristics, but please add the following points.

(1) Causes of discrepancies between circuit analysis results and simulation results

(2) Circuit fabrication accuracy and whether it affects measurement results

(3) circuit loss

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper presents a novel absorptive filtering power divider (AFPD) design featuring high selectivity, flat output distribution, and effective passband bandwidth control through theoretical analysis and parametric studies.

1. Although the proposed AFPD design demonstrates improved performance, the paper lacks clear distinction from existing work, necessitating a stronger emphasis on novel design elements or innovative concepts.

2. While the design's performance is highlighted, the paper could better discuss the practical implications of its findings, such as potential applications and the benefits it offers in practical RF systems.

3. The paper provides minimal context within the existing literature on absorptive filtering power dividers, missing an opportunity to discuss related approaches, benchmarks, or recent advancements in this field. Incorporating the following references is highly recommended to show the importance of the research:  a) A New Design Method for Class-E Power Amplifiers Using Artificial Intelligence Modeling for Wireless Power Transfer Applications b) A Super-Efficient GSM Triplexer for 5G-Enabled IoT in Sustainable Smart Grid Edge Computing and the Metaverse

4. The technical description is complex, and the writing could benefit from clearer organization and better explanations of key design components. Improved structuring and simplification would enhance readability.

5. The paper lacks subheadings or clear section divisions, leading to a somewhat disorganized presentation. Incorporating well-labeled sections and subheadings would facilitate better navigation and understanding for readers.

Major revision is needed

The authors have proposed a wideband all-frequency absorptive filtering power divider design, and justified by mathematical equations and results. I suggest some improvements:

1. It is stated that the proposed PD has high selectivity and flat output ports distributions. What is the method to get this performance?

2. The curves in Fig. 3 is too dense to read. It is suggested to delete the case of IR = 1.

3. It is observed in Fig. 10 that the effect of R4 is small. Whether this resistor can be deleted.

4. Line 220, it is confused about the criterion of |S21| < -3 dB since the ideal value of |S21| is -3 dB.

5. In Fig. 12, the variables of h, W5, L7_7, and r are not found as indicates in Table 2.

6. In Fig. 13, the left cut-off frequency is missing, please marked.

7. Line 255, the criterion of |S21| is still confused.

8. The content from line 264-270 is irrelevant with the paper.

9. The grammar of the paper should be checked and improved, for example

Line 86 should be “are defined as”

Line 125 should be “the TZs shift from……”

Line 138 should be “the coupling C”

Line 142 should be “10-dB return loss”

A slight review of English grammar and diction is recommended

1. In the case of TCL analysis, author intend that |S11_FPD| bandwidth is less influenced by the Zob than CT. This requires additional numerical explanation analysis.

2. In page 6, please mention in your paper what the variable on (Eq.8) and xn (Eq.9) mean.

3. As you mentioned in this paper, all the variables are shown after the formula, so it should be reconstruct the formula.

It should be more moderate editing of English language requirement.

I recommend minor revisions for this work. The paper is interesting. Here are my comments:

-There is no info regarding the Software name, boundries, meshes etc. Please add them in the revision.

-The measurement section is explained very briefly and a hug amount of explanation regarding the fabrication and measrements steps are missed. Please revise it accordingly.

-In the circuits, the references of some basic formula are missed. Please add them in the revision.

-Authors should introduce all the parameters in the formulas (before or after formulas). Please check and add them in the revision.

-English language should be checked.
