Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The topic of the paper is very interesting and concerns the current research topics. However, I believe that these works should be partially verified by laboratory tests and not only by simulations.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors presented a work entitled “Improvement of the coupling of renewable sources through Z- source converters based on the study of their dynamic model”. Although the paper has merit it needs to consider following comments to further improve the quality.

1. The authors' contribution - how this work would be helpful to the readers in future; is again not highlighted clearly with reference to existing schemes.

2.     A more detailed quantitative comparisons needs to presented

3.     Significant number of existing schemes needs to be investigated

4.     English writing needs improvement.

5.     Consistency is missing while presenting the work

6.     More discussion needs to present about experimental testbed.

Reviewer 3 Report

After studying the article, there are several observations about this work done. Among these notes, I mention:

1. What is the contribution of this paper? The contribution of this paper should be mentioned in the introduction.

2. In line 42, you mentioned "to obtain a large voltage gain [15][16]", references should be written according to the journal's policy as "to obtain a large voltage gain [15, 16]".

3. What are the pros and cons of using Z-source converters?

4. It is necessary to carry out a comparative study with other works such as references 18, 12, 13, 21 and 24.

5. What is the purpose of this study? What is its purpose, reducing THD???

6.In Figure 5a, there are four systems. Are all of these systems all studied in this paper?
