The current manuscript is not accepted at its current form. 

1. Abstract need quantitative results. Like COD removal, etc. 

2. English is adequate but there is room for improvement. 

3. Section 3.4, references used were too little. In the 2nd to 6th Paragraph, there are no references. 

4. Same as Section 3.3, 3.2 and 3.1, no references. Statement without reference is not supported scientifically. Please add reference. 

5. What is the novelty of this study? You may highlight in introduction.

There is good novelty with the work, but the methods and results are difficult to follow the way those sections are written. The main points are understood, but rephrasing of sentences in each section is suggested. Also, there needs to be some justification as to why supplements were added to certain components of the reactor to enhance efficiency of the component- would an operator of an actual reactor be expected to add those supplements to each compartment? If the phrasing/english language and style can be improved and more explanation provided regarding the addition and practicality of supplements to components of the reactor, then I think the manuscript will be greatly improved.

 

Some examples of sentences that need rephrasing include:

Line 46 “the internal of the granules” ?

Line 50: “Image analyses becomes a common…” do you mean has become a common

Line 51 structure can be visible also in their images?

Line 54- Awkward phrasing "Statistically documented ...........?

Line 60-  Add "however” after "developed" and before "there"

Line 72-76- break up run on sentence into multiple sentences.

Line 3: the influent was carried out?

Line 132- diluted by a factor of 50?

Methods- use past tense so

                Line 151: size of floc was calculated …..

                155 within each compartment were used ……

Line 184-186 phrasing is awkward
