Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The idea of the paper is interesting, but it is really developed only for Vietnam; Romania and Algeria show some information and some data base, but they do not finalize to the conclusion.

Conclusion that by paradox are not wrong, but they are not justified by data previously showed.

In the conclusion you didn’t say anything about fire in Algeria.

You should try to tie better the data with the conclusion and also if you will have 2-3 different answers for the different territories.

You should make a major effort to homogenize the paper and to eliminate paragraph 4.3.

If you need some other support I am available to work on, the subject is not weak.

Data base from Vietnam is well exposed.

I guess you can find more data about Romania

The problem is the Algerian data set, it seems little bit weak, try to work on the data you have.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript presents an interesting contribution that highlights an accurate analysis of the degradation of the coast in three different sites. The analysis is conducted with extreme accuracy, depth of detail, critical analysis of the quality of the data used.
The analysis of the limitations of the study provided is also highly appreciated.
The manuscript is well written, pleasant to read, clear.
It can be accepted in this form.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Thanks for sending the article from Petrisor et al. with the requested corrections.

Reading the new version of this article, I note that the authors have taken into account my remarks.

On the other hand, I would like to point out a few points:

On line 246: Pranzini reports that the Romans were the first to colonize the Romanian Black Sea coast 26 centuries ago.

At the next line (247), there is a report of Greek colonization (reference 69 of G.Romanescu). However, in his publication, Romanescu writes that the settlement of the Greeks dates from the 8th century BC, thus before the Romans.

So, it seems to me that these two sentences 246 and 247 must be reversed and formulated differently.

At the line1046, we talk again about the tsunamis for Algeria.... this is grossly exaggerated and anxious! While there have been destructive earthquakes in Algeria (including the one in Boumerdes) that must be taken into account for land use planning, the Boumerdes earthquake did not cause a tsunami, except for stronger waves. On the other hand, in neighbouring Morocco, the situation is different especially on the Atlantic coast (Lisbon earthquake) and in the Strait of Gibraltar.

In the bibliography, at lines 1513-1514, I prefer that the reference to this article be presented as follows: "Geo-Eco-Trop, 2014,38,103-110". Thus, it is requested to quote the articles of this journal and, thus, it would be similar to reference 69 published in the same journal.

Also in the bibliography, at the 1648 line, I note two small spelling errors: "Acts of the symposium..."

Apart from these slight remarks, I agree to the publication of this article,

With my distinguished greetings,
