Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I have read the paper with great interest both because covid-19 pandemic constitutes an interesting issue, but also because the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the travel patterns of residents, is very important. The analysis is quite detailed and the authors do an excellent job presenting a very coherent and clear analysis of the issue. Furthermore, the conclusions thoroughly are supported by the results presented.

Exploring the spatio-temporal and behavioural variations in taxi travel based on big data during the COVID-19 pandemic: A case study of New York City

1.      On line 171; 200; 215; 225; 263; 285; 286; 336 – appears Error! Reference source not found. – Please, find the reason and eliminate that problem.

2.      Line 225 - the new Omicron wave did not cause dramatic changes in taxi journeys – maybe it is not bad, that observing correlation to be repeated in the Conclusion and in Abstract.

3.      Line 203 - a week after the restrictions (March 23-29, 2020), a drop of 95.3% was noted – add that results to the Abstract, also;

4.      Line 206 - by the end of March 2022 (two years after the outbreak), the number of taxi journey remained below half the pre-epidemic level - add that results to the Abstract, also;

The results and discovered patterns are amazing, but some parts of the article can be improved.

I suggest adding some of the main correlations and calculating data (%) in the Abstract and in the Conclusion!
