Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The is an interesting study that has industrial importance with good justification and objectives. The paper is well-written, and the experiments were proper. However, one of the major drawbacks is that the way it presents seems more like a technical report rather than a scientific paper. The authors should improve it by adding more scientific explanation and discussion in the Results and Discussion section.

Line 13 – italicize the scientific name

Line 39 - US$, please use the monetary unit consistently

Line 73 - italicize the scientific name

Line 120-121 – some weird expression occurs: “Error! Reference source not found” please check

Table 1 – please check the section numbering, it’s not match to the referenced section

Why is the thickness of the samples used for ambient and fan drying is different?

Line 145 – “Notes that the samples achieved a minimum weight of 50 g as required in AS/NZS 1080.1 (2012)” what does this mean? Please elaborate

Line 154 - 800 × 850 mm was exposed to water pooling, but based on Figure 1, only part of the samples was exposed right? Please clarify

Line 156 – please remove (

Line 177 – Figure what?

Line 210 – is it section 2.4 and 2.5 you are meant to say?

Line 214 – shown in… hanging

The figures seem duplicated, please remove and remain only one.

Line 216-242 – please rewrite and rearrange this whole section

Section 3 – Results and Discussion, not only Results

Line 345 – chronological order of the figure, Figure 9 should be mentioned in the text before Figure 10.

Line 398-399  - please elaborate the findings in Figure 11

Line 445 – Figure 13 should be mentioned first.

The discussion is lacking, please add more discussion.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear authors

In your work, the drying procedure of CLT was investigated with diffeerent drying method. It is an important technology and engineering issue having critical effect on products of CLT, and important significance on wood engineered timber. However, some issues are need to be adressed. Please see suggestions and comments in attachement.
