Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In prior decades, the parallel physiological, biochemical, metabolic, and clinical expression of a wide variety of endocrinological disorders that affect humans and other species have been investigated and documented. Today, this focus encompasses the development of molecular diagnostics, along with stem cell and gene therapies for the endocrine disorders, leading to their application in clinical human and animal medicine. These achievements are the subject of this Special Issue of Veterinary Sciences, dedicated to canine and feline endocrinology.

Some suggested topics include: thyroid dysfunction in animals as models for human Hashimoto’s and Graves’ diseases, over- and under-active adrenal disorders in companion animals and their therapy, neuroendocrine disorders, and clinical and genetic testing for canine hyperparathyroidism.

We hope you will contribute an article to this Special Issue.

Best wishes.

Dr. W. Jean Dodds
Guest Editor
