Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues

Water reuse is becoming inevitable worldwide due to the changing environment (e.g., population growth and climate change). Water reuse is one of the essentials to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of better managing water to sustain people and the environment through improvements in the sustainable use and development of water resources and wastewater management. Many researchers, organizations, and countries have been striving to make sustainable water reuse possible in a variety of aspects, from economic feasibility to environmental sustainability. Nevertheless, global communities are still supposed to share their experiences with solutions, based on the different social and environmental gradients, in order to provide better strategies for sustainable water reuse. This Special Issue is therefore being prepared to share valuable experiences and research. Among other sectors, agriculture and its associated environment are the primary interests of this Special Issue, since agriculture is the single largest consumer of fresh water. The main themes include but are not limited to the following:

  • Water reuse in agriculture and sustainable environment;
  • Environmental impacts and water reuse;
  • Agricultural productivity and water reuse;
  • Water reuse technologies;
  • Economic analysis of water reuse;
  • Water reuse policy and guidelines;
  • Water reuse history;
  • Public acceptance of wastewater reuse;
  • Water resources management and water reuse;
  • Case studies of water reuse.
