Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the development of a Special Issue on “Sustainable Healthcare Settings and Health and Social Care Workforce.”

There remains a need to develop an evidence base on aspects of health and social care sustainability, including the provision of healthcare and a trained and competent health and social care workforce. Due to the growing demand for healthcare among a global aging population with complex multi-morbidities, the long-term sustainability of the provision of health and social care urgently needs to be addressed.

We are soliciting papers for this Special Issue that broadly inform the development of sustainable health and social care provision and a health and social care workforce, through innovative interventions to support both healthcare delivery and training of the workforce, including that of new technology. Aspects that may also be addressed include an understanding of the variables that are increasing the demand for care and the skills and competence required by the health and social care workforce.
