Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Extreme weather and climate events and their impacts can occur in complex ways. Various anthropogenic actions can also affect the severity of events both directly and indirectly. Such compound effects are expected to increase due to land use and climate change in the upcoming years. Hurricanes, floods, heatwaves, wildfires, wars, and human conflicts can act individually or in combination, thus putting this topic on agenda for sustainability worldwide. The goal of this Special Issue is to bring together recent research and current thinking on the different effects of extreme weather and climate events on biodiversity and the sustainability of territories. With this in mind, we invite authors to submit papers that address one or more of the following topics:
Impacts on extreme weather and climate events and their interactions on biodiversity, ecological services, and socio-ecological systems;
Socio-ecological responses to extreme weather and climate events and their interactions
Mitigation, adaptation, and societal solutions for the impacts of extreme weather and climate events and their interactions on biodiversity and ecological services;
