Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to invite you to submit your research work to the Sustainability Special Issue entitled “Sustainable Surface Coating Materials”. Surface engineering is a domain closely connected to sustainability and environmental protection. Surface modification with the application of advanced coatings (from nanolayers to paints and varnishes) addresses limitations in the usage of rare and expensive materials, achieving at the same time high performance parameters. Nowadays, research on different coatings is a major area of interest among material, mechanical and chemical scientists all over the world. In this Special Issue, research on the mechanical, thermal, strength and chemical properties of a wide range of coatings (from nanolayers to paints and varnishes) and coated materials is desired, considering the sustainability and ecology of the production of these special materials.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
