Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue aims to promote sustainable research on the topic of construction concrete and 3D printing in the construction sector. We would like to invite submissions of experimental and review articles that utilize innovative methodologies, innovative techniques, and innovative ideas to address the goals of a sustainable future using sustainable materials and using sustainable techniques such as 3D printing in the construction industry. The aim and targets of this Special Issue are listed below:

  1. How can the sustainable goal be achieved by using sustainable materials in the construction industry? since sustainability is the most significant issue currently.
  2. The use of 3D printing in the construction industry is of paramount importance currently; hence, this Special Issue focuses on the use of 3D painting in the building sector.
  3. The sustainable design of buildings, whether residential or commercial, is of utmost importance, so this Special Issue also focuses on the sustainable design of buildings.
  4. What could be the possible innovative sustainable materials and innovative sustainable techniques that can be used to achieve the sustainable environmental goal?
  5. Life cycle assessment and life cycle costing can also contribute to sustainable development, and we can achieve this goal by using such techniques.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Sustainable materials being used in construction industry;
  • 3D printing in construction industry;
  • Use of polymeric materials in building sector;
  • Sustainable designs of building using automatic facades;
  • Innovative materials such as photovoltaic glass;
  • Carbon capture and sequestration;
  • Life cycle assessment and life cycle costing of sustainable materials;
  • Sustainability in digital fabrication of composites.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
