Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With the rapid development of industry in recent decades, excessive use of fossil fuels has intensified the issue of global warming, becoming a bottleneck of industrialization. In the era of Industry 4.0 and the circular economy, optimizing resource use efficiency and stabilizing climate change have become key issues during the processing of industrialization. A sustainable supply chain is important for reducing energy consumption, and also can be considered crucial for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. In practice, increasing industries have begun to utilize sustainable supply chain models to improve resource use efficiency, reduce carbon emission for responding to the pressure of carbon mitigation and enhance their market competitiveness. Additionally, the development of industry creates opportunities to present innovative research on sustainable supply chain management and green supply chain management, such as supply chain structure adjustment, resource efficiency improvement, and the circular economy, etc. This Special Issue aims to explore sustainable supply chain management under Industry 4.0 and the circular economy. Moreover, we also welcome articles that explore the topic of the circular economy in depth using other appropriate methods.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Sustainable supply chains and the circular economy within the context of carbon neutrality
  • The application of information technologies for the circular economy
  • New technology in the development of sustainable supply chains
  • Industry 4.0 technologies in promoting organizations capabilities to develop sustainable supply chains
  • Performance measurement models and application for optimizing resource use efficiency
  • The environmental impact of a sustainable supply chain
  • Environmental impacts of the circular economy

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
