Dear Colleagues,
Technology is becoming increasingly integrated into our society, be it the internet, mobile phones, satellites, or drones. How this technology interacts with wildlife is a challenge, one that will grow in the coming decades. In this Special Issue, we specifically seek to address the ways in which autonomous vehicles do, and will, impact wildlife species. We are particularly keen to address both the positive and negative impacts of these technologies. Some questions to be answered include the following:
- How can autonomous vehicles be used to survey and monitor wildlife populations?
- How do autonomous vehicles impact wildlife species, from individuals to populations?
These issues have technical, social, and ethical components that need to be highlighted if we are to ensure that we gain the most from technological advances and minimise the consequences of these developments for wildlife.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
