Dear Colleagues,
We are glad to announce and support this Special Issue on the Application of Satellite Communication in Network Sensing.
Satellite Communications are constantly evolving and have become increasingly widespread in the last decade. New and emerging scenarios and use cases are integrating satellite networks for different purposes. Network Sensing is one of these purposes. Satellite Communication networks can be exploited to monitor the conditions of underlying networks and systems. Satellite networks, particularly the LEO mega-constellation with Inter-Satellite links, are suitable, due to their high coverage area and high availability. They are able to collect and forward large amounts of data from the monitored-system nodes (sensors, devices, etc.) to entities, aiming to store and manage these data.
This Special Issue of Sensors is dedicated to further improving the research on this field with innovative solutions from the communication protocols, network architecture, and data analysis and processing technique viewpoints.

Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
