Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The application and usage of radar sensing technology have significantly expanded in recent years from military applications to the commercial, transportation, healthcare, personal security, and robotics areas. This has spawned a multiplicity of new research topics that need to be addressed in challenging environments such as collision avoidance for automobiles and drones, pedestrian detection, elderly fall detection, human detection in rubble, through-wall detection for personal safety, coexistence with communications, multifunctional RF systems, etc. Recently, the use of machine learning has also enhanced the detection, recognition, and classification of radar targets, further motivating new avenues for research. In addition, there are further constraints on the size, weight, power, and cost of radar systems that require innovative approaches to radar system design.
This Special Issue seeks personal perspectives from selected radar experts on future advances and trends in all areas of radar, including theory, system design, signal processing, novel applications, and system effectiveness. Perspectives are limited to 2000 words and must contain no more than one figure and three references. It is hoped that these perspectives will provide future directions for research advancement and research priorities.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
