Dear Colleagues,
A biosensor is a device that uses specific biological recognition probes to selectively capture target molecules or pathogens, and measures the signal change during the binding or reacting process to realize detection (such as electrical signals, optical signals, acoustic signals, magnetic signals, etc.). Biosensors are widely used in medical diagnosis, environmental monitoring, food safety and other fields. Especially in point-of-care diagnostics, biosensors can provide fast, convenient, low-cost, highly sensitive and highly specific detection assays, which are important for the timely detection and treatment of various diseases, such as infectious diseases, cancers and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, developing and optimizing point-of-care biosensors is a very promising and challenging research direction.
This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest research progress and innovations in this field, mainly in the following areas:
- How biosensors bring new opportunities and capabilities to point-of-care diagnostics;
- How biosensors can realize the simultaneous detection of multiple biomolecules or pathogens to achieve multiple diagnostics and high-throughput screening;
- How to combine biosensors with smartphones, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data processing, analysis and sharing, and provide new tools for point-of-care diagnosis and precision medicine.
In this Special Issue, we welcome original research papers, short communications, and review papers on advances in biosensors for point-of-care molecular detection and disease diagnosis.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
