Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The problems of landscape waste management are having a significant impact on the economy. According to expert estimates, the economic damage from unresolved waste problems amounts to 10% or more of the gross domestic product.

Waste pollution of the Earth has become a factor in restraining economic growth, serving as a loss of secondary resources and reducing the environmental ratings of territories.  In addition, the lack of understanding in waste management poses significant risks to the health of the population living in or near these territories.

Waste management activities always present new challenges, and we must be ready to offer new solutions.

We offer a platform for discussion in which interested parties can discuss new problems including politics, legislation, technology and social and economic effects of landscape waste management and offer non-trivial pathways to solve them.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to present the latest research and development in the field of landscape waste management to obtain new secondary products and reduce social and environmental risks.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Solid waste management;
  • Agricultural waste management;
  • Industrial waste management;
  • Mining waste management;
  • Secondary resources and energy;
  • Low-carbon waste recycling technologies;
  • Land degradation and restoration;
  • Smart waste management technologies;
  • Impact of wastes on underground water sources;
  • Underground space utilization;
  • Risk assessment;
  • Cumulative effect assessment;
  • Sanitation and waste management practices;
  • Social and economic aspects of waste management.
