Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Health sciences are the most rapidly-growing fields among all scientific domains, but while technical education and progression are accelerating, the human impact often stays behind. However, a number of recent papers have stressed a plethora of skills and abilities in which it is currently important to focus on going far beyond technical acquisition. Most authors refer to the importance of in-depth knowledge of the so-called “philosophical aspects” of medical art from Bachelor to Ph.D. courses. The aim of this Special Issue is to give an overview of the different branches that relate to the history of medicine that are relevant for biomedical education, including ethics, biomedical museology, medical education, and paleopathology. Although the issue is focused on theoretical considerations about historical aspects of biomedicine, other contributions are welcome. All scholars interested in this theme are invited to submit their contribution, independently from the Editor’s invitation.
