Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce the launch of a new Special Issue of the journal Mathematics entitled "Mathematical Modelling for Operations and Supply Chains". This Special Issue aims to highlight the significance of mathematical modelling is designing, operating, and managing supply chains.
In recent years, the rapid surge of smart technologies, for efficient and responsive operations and supply chains, along with the global emphasis on sustainability have driven the need for innovative mathematical modelling approaches in various industries. This Special Issue seeks to bring together cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges and opportunities in this field.
We invite scholars and researchers to contribute their original research articles, review papers, and short communications on a wide range of topics related to innovative mathematical modelling for operations and supply chains. Potential areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Optimization techniques for smart supply chain management;
- Decision support systems for green logistics and transportation;
- Mathematical models for production planning and scheduling;
- Integration of renewable energy sources in supply chain operations;
- Multi-criteria decision making in operations management;
- Mathematical models for closed-loop/sustainable supply chains and circular economy;
- Outsourcing and supplier selection under uncertainty;
- Pricing, and revenue management under uncertainty;
- Quantitative methods for assessing the environmental and social impacts of operations.
