Dear Colleagues,
Biology is complex information process system and hard to understand or predict without the aid of computational or theoretical tools. Meanwhile, the unique challenges embedded in biological systems continuously trigger the development of novel methodologies. In this Special Issue, we would like to introduce the recent advances, cases studies, perspectives and discussions from the biological, pharmaceutical and clinical communities; examine how different tools, such as machine learning, modeling, systems analysis and simulation, have been used to tackle biological complexity and how the synergistic combination of different tools have emerged as tools with unforeseen power; and discuss the current challenges and future perspectives of computational biology and systems pharmacology.
