Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in harnessing the therapeutic potential of substances derived from marine organisms and natural sources for the treatment of wounds. Marine-derived biopolymers possess unique properties such as biocompatibility, antimicrobial activity, and bioactive molecules that make them promising candidates for wound care. From marine-derived collagen to seaweed extracts rich in polysaccharides, researchers are uncovering a treasure trove of natural compounds with the potential to enhance the wound healing process. Moreover, these compouds often offer sustainable alternatives, aligning with the growing demand for eco-friendly healthcare solutions.

In this Special Issue, we delve into the latest advancements in the field, including the development of novel wound dressings and the elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of marine biomaterials. We aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art research and inspire further exploration into this topic of biomaterials science and regenerative medicine.
