Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The study of energy conversion and storage is an essential research field for the development of humanity, which has attracted significant attention from researchers around the world in recent decades. In this regard, macromolecules and their composites have recently been used for different applications in the field of energy such as high-performance supercapacitors, lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, and electrochemical devices.

In particular, conjugated macromolecules that display semiconducting character have arisen as outstanding materials for the development of flexible electronic devices. Furthermore, their superior absorption coefficients and the chance of tuning the band gap via molecular functionalization or the addition of inorganic or organic carbon nanomaterials have started novel opportunities to develop solar-energy cells.

This Special Issue is open to novel research articles and reviews in the field of the synthesis, characterization, and applications of macromolecule-based materials in the field of energy. Articles on the modeling, simulation, optimization, and control of such types of materials are also welcomed.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Macromol is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
