Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to be serving as the Guest Editor of the Special Issue "Advanced Studies in Financial Modelling and Forecasting" to be published in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (JRFM), with the aim of supporting research in this field.

Many experts have identified deficient risk management as one of the main causes of the financial crisis that occurred between 2007 and 2009. The complex interconnections within the modern financial system have connected financial institutions to an unprecedented extent. Consequently, problems arising from excessive risk taking by one institution can quickly spread to others, resulting in systemic threats. The increasing challenges faced by the financial industry highlight the need for new tools and techniques to measure and manage financial risks effectively within the current regulatory framework. Additionally, the existing models must be expanded to accommodate the emergence of new financial products, services, and technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data analysis.

Based on the aforementioned facts, this Special Issue aims to attract original contributions that address the current advancements in financial modeling and their applications in various areas of finance.
