Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The aim of this Special Issue, titled “Gene Therapy and Cell Therapy in Personalized Medicine”, is to focus on the usage of personalized medicine in clinics. In particular, we aim to address the need for improving gene and cell therapy in this context. This Special Issue will therefore assess the potential of these techniques in improving the current standard treatments, and thus the patients’ lifespan, modulating the disease course without providing an efficient cure. Therefore, (i) delivering genetic material in locus, by using specific vectors, acting on the genetic level; and/or (ii) using cells to treat different diseases at the cellular level, for instance, by using induced pluripotent stem cells. This might pave the way the development of novel personalized therapies.
