Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oral health is a part of physical health, which is less documented as a factor affecting mental health. Oral health affects an individual’s quality of life, motivation and self-esteem, speech, diet and other social and psychological aspects of life. Individuals with serious mental health issues are more vulnerable to the risk of developing oral health issues. At the same time, good oral health condition boosts individual confidence levels and thus overall mental health status. There is very limited research that has tried to explore the relationship between oral health condition and mental health status.

In this Special Issue, we are inviting dental professionals, public health researchers, psychiatrists and other academics to publish their valuable work on oral and mental health matters.
