Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 IJERPH Young Investigator Award is Dr. Peng Jia.

Dr. Peng Jia is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Earth Observation Science at the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands. Dr. Jia’s research interests primarily focus on applying spatial, location-aware, statistical, and artificial intelligence technologies to conduct epidemiologic research on the basis of large-scale cohorts and biobanks. He is also an expert in planning health-care resource allocation and optimizing hierarchical health-care systems on the basis of electronic medical records. His healthcare research has been granted the 2015 Outstanding Article of the Year Award by the U.S. AHRQ. Dr. Jia received his PhD in 2015 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 90 papers with an accumulated Impact Factor of more than 600, and delivered over 60 invited presentations. He coined the term “Spatial Lifecourse Epidemiology” and founded the International Initiative on Spatial Lifecourse Epidemiology (ISLE) to facilitate this interdisciplinary area. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Peng Jia for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Peng Jia will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free-of-charge without a fixed deadline in IJERPH after peer-review, and an engraved plaque.
