Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The landscape of healthcare is in a perpetual state of transformation, presenting healthcare professionals with an array of challenges and opportunities. In today's dynamic healthcare environment, allied health practitioners play a pivotal role in providing essential services, promoting wellness, and enhancing patient outcomes. To meet the evolving needs of healthcare, allied health professionals must continually adapt, innovate, and strive for excellence in their practice. This Special Issue seeks to foster dialogue, share insights, and disseminate knowledge related to on-the-job training, professional competence, and skills development in healthcare.

We invite submissions that explore a wide range of topics related to healthcare training programs, continuous professional development, and interprofessional learning. Additionally, we encourage research contributions that examine training needs assessments, evidence-based competence, and professional development. We invite diverse perspectives and empirical studies that address critical issues in healthcare practices.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Innovative approaches to on-the-job training: novel methods for skill development, innovative training modules, and pedagogical strategies for effective on-the-job training.
  • Professional competence and career development: strategies for career progression and challenges faced by healthcare professionals in various fields.
  • Ongoing training and skill development: best practices for continuous professional development, upskilling, and lifelong learning to meet the evolving demands of healthcare.
  • Evidence-based competence: research on integrating evidence-based practices into healthcare settings, including case studies and evaluations of successful implementation.
  • Research training and development: initiatives, tools, and methodologies to enhance the research-related skills and knowledge of healthcare practitioners and promote a culture of inquiry in healthcare organizations.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
