We are pleased to announce that Healthcare is now inviting nominations for the Healthcare 2023 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of their excellence in the field of healthcare systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation. All nominations will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rahman Shiri.

The prize:
− CHF 2000;
− Option to publish one paper free of charge in Healthcare after peer review before the end of December 2024;
− A certificate. 

Eligibility and Requirements:
− Must have received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 December 2023;
− Must have produced ground-breaking research and a significant contribution to the field of health care systems, industry, technology, policy, and regulation;
− Must be nominated by senior scientists. 

List of Documents for Nomination:
– Detailed curriculum vitae, including an updated publication list and a list of the researcher’s own research grants;
− A scanned copy of doctorate certificate;
− Signed nomination letters from two established senior scientists.

– Winners announced: 31 March 2024

We are pleased to announce the “Healthcare 2023 Best Paper Award” for original research and review articles published in Healthcare between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021. Two original research articles and two review articles will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the EiC, Dr. Rahman Shiri, and the winners will be announced on 30 June 2023.

Eligibility for the Award:
– Papers published in Healthcare between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.

Selection Criteria:
Original research:
– Importance of research findings to patient care or public health;
– Design of the study;
– Novelty;
– Reliability and validity of measurements;
– Reporting quality;
– Number of citations in 2022;
Review papers:
– Relevance of review to patient care or public health;
– Novelty;
– Presence vs. absence of meta-analysis;
– Using individual participant data vs. aggregated data meta-analysis;
– Reporting quality;
– Number of citations in 2022.

Prizes:
Each winner will receive the followings:
– 500 CHF;
– A chance to publish a paper free of charge in Healthcare before the end of June 2024;
– A certificate.

The winners will be announced on the journal website at the end of June 2023.

Dr. Shahnawaz Anwer is a Research Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Shahnawaz Anwer’s research interests are in ergonomics, osteoarthritis, work-related musculoskeletal disorders, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and physical fatigue. Dr. Shahnawaz Anwer received his PhD in 2021 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 105 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Shahnawaz Anwer’s Hirsch index is 28. He is clearly a rising star in the field of physical therapy. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Shahnawaz Anwer for his outstanding achievements.
