Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a call for contributions for a Special Issue devoted to vaccine-preventable diseases, their epidemiological impact, and the prospects for vaccination as a response to the burden of disease. According to global epidemiological data, vaccine-preventable diseases still pose a significant threat to public health. Reducing the incidence of these diseases remains a challenge with significant implications for morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs, especially among certain age groups or vulnerable populations.

In particular, this call for papers aims to gather studies that thoroughly analyze epidemiological information on vaccine-preventable diseases, including data on the burden of disease, vaccine efficacy and effectiveness, and economic and public health impact.

This Issue will focus on the diseases for which vaccination already appears to be a practical preventive measure and broaden the analysis of diseases for which vaccination soon could be a viable option, among which we must mention respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection.

We, therefore, invite fellow researchers to submit original papers that provide an in-depth assessment of the epidemiology of these diseases, including recent data on incidence, prevalence, public health impact, and the contribution of vaccination to controlling these diseases. Research that explores new approaches to address challenges in prevention, such as preventive measures, novel therapeutics, and effective communication strategies, is also welcome.

Participating in this Special Issue provides a unique opportunity to share innovative research and contribute to the advancement of knowledge about vaccine-preventable diseases.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Healthcare is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs).
