Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to submit your research to our Special Issue entitled "Opportunities and Challenges of Oncology Nursing". Oncology nurses should have clinical experience as well as specialized education. Advanced cancer treatments, such as immunotherapies, and technological advances, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery, necessitate the provision of nursing care by qualified and experienced staff. Cancer education beginning at the pre-licensure level, rigorous onboarding training, competency requirements, ongoing education, and oncology nurse leadership across cancer control activities such as national cancer control planning are all required to meet this workforce requirement.

This Special Issue aims to explore the evolution of oncology nursing through research on different aspects of cancer care.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, the following for oncological patients:

  • Perioperative nursing;
  • Perianaesthesia nursing;
  • Management of chronic and acute pain;
  • Palliative oncology care;
  • Pediatric oncology care;
  • Pediatric palliative care;
  • Ethical issues in oncology nursing;
  • Management, leadership, conflict resolution, or skill development in oncology nursing.

I look forward to receiving your contributions.
