Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Multi/Many-Core Systems-on-Chips (MCSoCs) have demonstrated a great potential to accelerate computing capability by parallelizing computation, memory access, and on-chip communication. Furthermore, numerous technologies, design tools, and architectures have been proposed to enhance integration density, reduce power consumption, and migrate complex applications to MCSoCs. However, in many aspects of MCSoCs, there are still several unsolved problems that must be tackled to allow them to be scaled up, such as the limitation of parallelism in programming, the reliability and integrity of interconnected networks, testing for MCSoCs, low power design, or ensuring real-timeliness and system security.

Addressing the above challenges of MCSoCs requires significant research efforts on theories, algorithms, architecture, and experiences of system deployment and maintenance. Therefore, this Special Issue aims to offer a platform for researchers from both academia and industry to publish recent research findings and to discuss opportunities, challenges, and solutions related to MCSoCs. In particular, this Special Issue solicits original research papers about state-of-the-art approaches, methodologies, and technologies enabling efficient and practical solutions for MCSoCs.

Topics of interests include but are not limited to the following:

  • Multi/many-core programming, architectures, and design;
  • Interconnection network infrastructure;
  • Testing for MCSoCs;
  • Low power design for MCSoCs;
  • System security;
  • Reliability.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
