Dear Colleagues,
Neutrophils provide the first line of innate immune defence against infections and tissue injury. They modulate both inflammation and immune response. Neutrophils, after crossing the blood–brain barrier (BBB), may cause neuronal death or survival through a cascade of events triggered by their contact with CNS-resident cells or/and the local milieu, causing the release of molecules. Their role has been implicated in neuroinfectious and neuroinflammatory conditions. This Special Issue will cover multidisciplinary aspects on the role of neutrophils in such disorders, including, but not limited to, studies on neutrophils in pathological conditions. In addition, the Special Issue will provide insight into the various therapeutic options available.
We invite submissions on a broad range of topics, including, but not limited to, cross-sectional studies, clinical trials, position paper/recommendations, hypothesis/perspective, and systematic and narrative/comprehensive reviews.
