About Biomass

Aims

Biomass (ISSN 2673-8783) is an international open access journal covering biomass treatment, valorization, conversion, and biorefinery, and publishes review articles (reviews), original research papers (articles), and short communications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. Therefore, there is no restriction on the maximum length of papers; however, we expect reviews to provide new insights into the field rather than simply listing available information from the literature. This could be new interpretations of existing data or the identification of areas of particular interest for further study. Full experimental details must be provided so that results can be reproduced; likewise, for studies involving modeling or simulation, full details and equation sets must be provided.

Scope

Biomass covers all aspects of bioenergy, biorefining for materials and/or energy, and the circular use of biogenic carbon in the form of biomass. However, the journal does not cover such aspects as the pure characterization of biomasses, nor the regional availability of biomass feedstock, without a specific relationship to a conversion pathway or biorefining approach.
