Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue examines the fundamental principles and techniques of 3D printing technology in pharmaceutical manufacturing. It explores the application of 3D printing in drug development which allows for precise fabrication of personalized dosage forms and specialized and complex drug delivery systems, thereby highlighting the potential of 3D printing to enhance drug solubility, bioavailability, and controlled release profiles.

This Special Issue further discusses the integration of pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, and medical disciplines in utilizing 3D printing for personalized medicine, including patient-specific formulations based on scanning and imaging technologies. It also addresses the regulatory considerations and challenges associated with incorporating 3D printing technology in pharmaceutical manufacturing, such as quality control, validation, and standardization.

Overall, this Special Issue aims to provide insights into the transformative potential of 3D printing technology in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The research within this Special Issue contributes to the development of innovative drug delivery systems, personalized medicines and dosage forms, paving the way for improved therapeutic efficacy and patient outcomes.
