Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature

future research directions and describes possible research applications.

Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world.
Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly
interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the
most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.
As Editor-in-Chief of Bioengineering, I am pleased to announce the winner of the Bioengineering Travel Award2018 for researchers. Dr. Lizette Utomo, a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Special Dental Care, University Medical Center Utrecht, Utrecht, the Netherlands, received this award. She investigates the potential use of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) for the generation of the temporomandibular joint tissue engineering, and more specifically, the mandibular condyle. At the moment, she is working on generating different cartilage zones by combining DPSCs and 3D biomaterials. This will be incorporated into a mandibular condyle construct.
The award consisted of 800 Swiss Francs, to be used to attend an academic conference after a few months. We would like to thank all applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics.
