Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Small ruminants are the most common and widespread animals in the world due to their ability to adapt to different environments, and they play a significant role in the global economy thanks to their wide-ranging production characteristics. In recent years, studies on the hormonal control of reproduction have brought about remarkable progress which has led to an improvement in reproductive efficiency and an increase in the productivity of small ruminants. Certainly, the development of new investigative techniques and the use of biotechnology have made a significant contribution to our understanding of many of the mechanisms involved in the endocrinological regulation of reproductive activity, which has important economic, social and medical implications. However, despite the considerable efforts of researchers to improve knowledge in this area, many aspects remain to be clarified. This Special Issue focuses on the “Effects of Endocrine Regulation on Reproduction in Small Ruminants” and therefore welcomes new research or insights into these aspects of this species. Thus, we are pleased to invite you to submit results from original studies relating to the effect of endocrine regulation on reproduction in small ruminants.
