Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Several arthropod species, including insects, ticks and mites, are ectoparasites living on livestock and poultry and exerting a significant economic impact on animal agriculture worldwide. Heavy infestations of these ectoparasites can affect animal health directly and result in significant yield losses in agricultural facilities. In addition, many of these arthropod species can also transmit numerous disease-causing protozoans, helminths, bacteria or viruses to the animals, with some of these pathogens also being zoonotic. Therefore, further research on various basic and applied aspects of these ectoparasites is needed.

In this Special Issue, we aim to publish research articles focusing on the ecology, surveillance and control of ectoparasites affecting various livestock and poultry, including companion animals. Review articles or scientific notes are also welcome.
