17–19 April 2024, Funchal (Madeira Island), Portugal
6th International Conference on Advances in Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and signal processing are driving the growth of the artificial intelligence market, as improving appropriate technologies is critical to offer enhanced drones, self-driving cars, robotics, etc. The two major factors enabling market growth are emerging artificial intelligence technologies, and growth in intelligent signal processing. Today, more and more sensor manufacturers are using machine learning sensors and signal data for analyses. It is becoming easier than ever to implement such technologies as hardware is becoming smaller and sensors are cheaper to buy, making Internet of Things devices widely available for a variety of applications ranging from predictive maintenance to user behaviour monitoring. However, the increased number of sensors in devices will inherently generate higher data throughput, posing a serious challenge in managing and processing the tremendous amount of sensory information. Furthermore, traditional processing techniques in conventional sensing devices are no longer suitable for systematically labelling, processing, and analysing the extensive amount of information.

The value of the artificial intelligence market was USD 428.00 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow from USD 515.31 billion in 2023 to USD 2025.12 billion by 2030, exhibiting a CAGR of 21.6%.

Global AI market growth is driven by the increasing adoption of cloud-based applications and services, the growing of big data, and the increasing demand for intelligent virtual assistants to advance signal processing. A major limiting factor that could prevent AI from reaching its full business potential is the availability of individuals with the right skills and capabilities to continue innovating AI.

A series of ASPAI conferences have been launched to fill in this gap and provide a forum for open discussion and development of emerging artificial intelligence and appropriate signal processing technologies focused on real-word implementation by offering hardware, software, services, and technology (machine learning, deep learning natural language processing, context-aware computing, computer vision, and signal processing). The goal of the conferences is to provide an interactive environment for establishing collaboration, exchanging ideas, and facilitating discussion between researchers, manufacturers, and users. The first ASPAI conference took place in Barcelona (Spain) in 2019, the second one in Berlin (Germany) in 2020 (in online format), the third in Porto (Portugal) in 2021 (in online format), the fourth in Corfu (Greece) in 2022, and the fifth in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain).
